There are many ways to support NMSU Library. Your gifts help fulfill the Library's mission and provide the best access to resources needed by students, faculty and community patrons. We welcome gifts of any size to the Library. Gifts can be made through any of the following methods.

  • By check:

Please mail your check made payable to New Mexico State University Foundation and enclose this gift form.

    • Library Development Office
    • New Mexico State University Library
    • PO Box 30006, MSC 3475
    • Las Cruces, NM 88003-8006
  • By credit card:

You can make a credit card gift online through the New Mexico State University Foundation's secure online giving site. If you need assistance with making a gift online, please email us or call 800-342-6678 (toll free), 575-646-3642 (locally)

  • Electronic Funds Transfer:

You can authorize your bank to transfer your gift to the NMSU Foundation automatically, saving you time and paperwork. Please complete the form and make your gift.

  • Faculty/Staff Payroll Deduction:

New Mexico State University faculty and staff may have gifts deducted from the paycheck each month, by returning the Payroll Deduction Form to the Library Development Office:

    • Library Development Office
    • New Mexico State University Library
    • PO Box 30006, MSC 3475
    • Las Cruces, NM 88003-8006
  • Pledges:

Think of a pledge as a gift with a payment plan. Pledges give donors the option to make payments toward a gift over time. Pledges are preferred by many donors who wish to make a big impact at NMSU, but seek the more flexible approach of spreading payments over a predetermined span of time. To set up a pledge, please contact us by email or call 800-342-6678 (toll free), 575-646-3642 (locally)

  • In-Kind Gifts:

If you are planning on making an in-kind gift to the NMSU Library, please be aware that the consideration of physical items for the general collection is currently on pause until January 2022. However, this does not impact Archives and Special Collections. If you would like to donate material that pertains primarily to this region – southern New Mexico, the borderlands, and the Southwest, please contact our Archives & Special Collections Department.

The NMSU Library Archives and Special Collections accepts gifts of books, manuscripts, records, and other archival materials that support and enhance its research collections and educational mission. Potential gifts are evaluated by Archives and Special Collections staff who determine their relevance to the department’s collecting scope and suitability for inclusion. Materials accepted into the collection, through the instrument of a Deed of Gift, become the permanent property of New Mexico State University, which reserves the right to determine retention, handling, cataloging, availability, and other considerations of use and disposition.

New Mexico State University Library is not able to offer monetary appraisals of gifts for tax or other purposes. Donors should discuss the appraisal of donated materials with an attorney, tax advisor, or certified appraiser before donation.

  • Real Estate

Before you sell real estate, consider a new option—donate the property to NMSU Library. You can give the property outright, place it in trust, retain the use of it for life or give it by will. All of these methods will enable you to enjoy personal financial benefits while supporting the University in a meaningful way.

Gifting appreciated real estate is an excellent choice for a charitable gift and, in most cases, a donor is entitled to a charitable deduction for the full gross market value of the property. This deduction lets you reduce the cost of making the gift and frees cash that otherwise would have been used to pay taxes. By donating the property to NMSU Library, you also avoid capital gains tax on the property’s appreciation. Furthermore, the transfer is not subject to the gift tax, and the gift reduces your taxable estate.

For information on real estate gifts call 800-342-6678 (toll free), 575-646-3642 (locally) or contact us by email and we'll get back with you.

  • Securities

Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have appreciated (increased in value) can have an immediate impact on your favorite program-and also create an immediate income tax deduction for you based on the assets' current value.

  • Thank you for your interest in supporting New Mexico State University Library!
